Grace is also hidden in what seems so terrible; the terrible suffering that we see all around us - it is there! And grace is hidden there - and you can only see the truth of that in yourself; I'm not saying that everyone should just believe it. You have to discover for yourself that grace is hidden in the seemingly horrible things; even in the little things that go "wrong", but even more so in the big things that go "wrong"; and eventually you realize that it's not "wrong" at all; it just looks like it is when you judge it. And that's how you invite grace into your life, you bring a deep "yes" into the present moment and then personal development accelerates and the more you do that, the less you need the disasters because you're working with the unfolding consciousness; the consciousness wants to unfold in that dimension. So it's really about welcoming what is. That was my stroke. I was in the hospital, and I saw all the doctors and nurses talking to my family, my friends...all shaking their heads and saying, "You're having a stroke?!" and I could feel how something quite terrible had happened to them, and on the wall was a picture of Maharashi. That stroke was grace. There are three guys here - my medical team - I would never have met them. I wouldn't have met them; we philosophize together, we talk about medicine. But I had a stroke and it was grace.
